Native Rights

On tribal reservations in the U.S., Plenty is supporting the efforts of Native Americans striving to sustain and grow cultural and economic sovereignty. At the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, we are working with a coalition of development agencies to help families and indigenous Oglala Sioux organizations who are reestablishing their land-based economy through agriculture and reforestation. At Saint Regis, New York, on the Mohawk Reservation, Plenty aided in the founding of the Akwesasne Emergency Medical Team by training a Mohawk staff of State-certified EMTs and donating an ambulance for their use. They offer the only emergency medical services for a Reservation population of 6,000 Indian people.
