Lesotho Integrated Rural Development

Plenty's projects in Lesotho grew out of a heartfelt desire of Africans to help Africans. Projects include midwifery, soy technology, clean water, medical education and relief, physical bridge building, community gardens, forestation and more. Lesotho is an independent, black-ruled nation surrounded by South Africa. From 1979 to 1985 Plenty Lesotho promoted village-scale technology development (running water, sanitation, reforestation, agriculture, alternative energy, healthcare) in a region comprising 60 villages and a population of approximately 10,000 Basotho tribes people.
